Duckling Class

Parent and Child Program for children ages 6 months -17 months

A Wonderful Introduction to the Detroit Waldorf School!

Our Duckling Parent-Child Program provides the opportunity for children ages 6-17 months (by session start date) to come together with peers with their beloved caregiver in an environment that is safe, soothing, developmentally appropriate and emotionally nurturing.

This unique program meets one day a week, as babies and toddlers are tenderly guided through the gentle rhythm of each class including a simple circle time, rhymes, songs and more.  Children’s natural wonder and curiosity are encouraged through imaginative play with simple and natural toys and materials. These magical moments together provide them with rich experiences for motor development, the language arts, emotional development and emerging social skills.

Parents and caregivers can participate in an array of activities under the guidance of an experienced Waldorf Early Childhood teacher. These activities include, Waldorf artistic projects, discussions about child development, parenting issues and Waldorf Education, bread baking and more!

Class Offerings include: free play, story time, simple circle time (songs, finger play, nursery rhymes), organic/natural snacks, outdoor play, observation, parenting discussions and exchange of ideas.
