Staff: Linda Brooks
Linda Brooks joined DWS as Director of Administration in 2005. Ms. Brooks’ desire to make a difference in the lives of children and be part of an organization that valued the dignity of children, led her to Detroit Waldorf School.
Prior to working at DWS, Linda ran her own business as a licensed daycare provider from 1987 to 2005. During this time, she was also an active community volunteer, leading and organizing several community events. One of her favorite events was a week-long educational series at the University of Michigan called “Victory over Violence”. This event included panel discussions amongst educators and community activists on the impact of physical and verbal violence against youth in our society. In collaboration with the Youth Peace Conference and UNICEF, she worked to bring an international exhibit based on the “Convention on the Rights of the Child” to the City of Detroit raising awareness of basic human rights abuses facing children around the world.
Linda and her husband live in the Ann Arbor area. She enjoys spending her time with her family and four adult children, traveling, and cooking.
